Hear ye, hear ye!

I hereby declare myself Queen Gracie of MikanLand!  Your royal highness is not sure what's going on around here.  I did not attend the videoteleconference with my "sister", and my mother did not bring back any photographic proof.  She continues to insist that the ball under her shirt is a baby, and my parents just seem a little antsy, and everything is busy around here.  If there is a possibility that this "Allison" is actually going to come here like they say, I feel it's important for me to make my role in this house very clear:  Queen Gracie.

As Queen, I issue the following decrees in this kingdom:

* There shall be no more mid-day naps!  I have reinstated my policy of using all my powers to fight naps.  (All royal subjects, especially Allison, should reference: http://ohmygoodnessgracie.blogspot.com/2009/08/how-to-avoid-naps.html)

* GO!!  GO!!  I love to go, and it's the word of the week.  I decree that the parents shall accompany your royal highness to an indoor or outdoor play area or activity a minimum of 4 days per week.  GO!!

* Henceforth, I appoint de Da as the royal court entertainer.  This shall be his official duty, and he shall no longer disappear to this place that my parents refer to as "work."  Singing, dancing, theatrics, and games (especially ball-bouncing) shall be rewarded with hugs and kisses, but don't expect naps.

I sense there are many more changes coming soon.  Until then, I bid thee farewell.

Here she comes! Wait... who?

I am told that my "baby sister," also known as "Allison," will be coming to our house soon. I've really been trying to figure out exactly what this means. I think my mother is fairly confused about it as well. Whenever I poke her in the belly, she asks me "what is that?" I tell her it's a ball, as I'm certain that it is.  Yet she insists that it's a baby.  Uhm Mom, I know what a baby is, and I know what a ball is, and that is definitely a ball.  A ball is one of my very favorite toys!

Some of my other favorite toys are my baby dolls. My parents have been stocking up on all kinds of baby doll accessories, and have even made a special room for me to play with my dolls. I have put clean diapers on many of my dolls, and some of my animals too. My parents even set-up a carseat for my baby dolls.   Don't tell them, but I think that was taking it a bit too far. They seemed so pleased with themselves... I'll play along if it makes them happy.

Anyway, back to this "Baby Allison" project. My parents have been assembling things.  I helped de Da put together this stroller. And they've been getting all my old stuff out.  I'm glad to see my old stuff, but they keep telling me that I'm too big for it, and it's for "the baby."  One thing I know for sure is that I love my blue chair that Gram gave me, and it definitely is not for "the baby."  I keep dragging it out of this room, and they keep putting it back in there.

I don't remember sleeping in this bassinet, and it's too high for my dolls, so I don't see why "the baby" and I can't share it.   I think I've found myself a good spot, where I will be able to rock her really well!

The sooner Allison gets here, the sooner I'll get to the bottom of this mysterious ball and all the things I am supposedly too big for now.  If she hasn't stopped by to explain herself by Tuesday, I've got a video teleconference scheduled with her to discuss it with her directly.  I'll let you know.

My parents and I have been super busy preparing for my baby sister to get here, which could be any time now.  I wonder how long she's planning on staying...?  Anyway, I promise to tell you more about that in the next couple days.    XOXOXOX

Under the weather

Taking my temperature all by myself.
Snoozing in my parents' bed.
Well, the past week didn't go as planned.  I've been fighting the battle of the boogers with a nasty little respiratory infection.  But the good news is that I've gotten tons of extra snuggles, my mom has let me watch extra Sesame Street and Yo Gabba Gabba, and I've gotten to eat mostly whatever I want, which hasn't been much.  I've taken advantage of the opportunity to take some extra long naps, although my mother claims that I could do that anytime.  I'm on the mend now.  No fever today, and I ate a little more than I have been.  I've found the energy to play with de Da, and will hopefully be getting out of the house tomorrow.

Jamming out with de Da.
On a sidenote, my freedom did not last... I got my crib back.  With each naptime or bedtime, I realized more and more just how much fun it was to be able to get out of bed and play.  I was having so much fun, that I wasn't getting enough sleep.  Very late one night after playing for a lonnnng time, de Da gave-in and reassembled my crib.  Don't tell anyone, but I'm secretly glad to have it back.  I'll try the bed again later.

Other than that, before I got sick I enjoyed a day out with other people my age, and a morning with my new babysitter (who I love!)  I've been helping my mom & dad get ready for this baby who is coming to stay with us.  I'm still not sure what that's all about.

Kisses to you all!!  Don't worry--you can't catch my cold over the internet.

Check back soon!  I've got plans  now that I'm feeling better!
