It's Pinkin Time!

by Gracie

Here I am!  It's been quite a while since I've given you a good update on my activities and developments.  I am at the mercy of my editor.  Maybe I need to give her a raise.

I've been quite busy, especially since the Georgia heat has cooled down a bit and I can get outdoors and enjoy myself more.  Here I am riding a rooster at my friend's Dad's company picnic.  A rooster says "Doo doo doo dooooooooo!"  I know most of my animal noises, and that's my favorite.  I've been working really hard on my human noises too.  I go to speech therapy once per week and hang out with my grown-up friend and we make noises and play games.  It's pretty cool.
However, if you want to converse with me, there are still some translations you should learn:

Gracienese--------English
tiss-----------------kiss
tocky wock--------chocolate milk
doots--------------juice
Tee----------------Casey
Rah Rah-----------Raven
fweese-------------horse
Yabby Yabby------Yo Gabba Gabba
wokul--------------waffle

Study up fast, Aunt Gretchen & Uncle James!  I can't wait to talk with you when you visit soon.

I have claimed some more territory as GracieLand.  This is my play closet under the stairs.  I love hanging out in here and stringing beads, diapering my babies, looking at books, and various other projects.

I'm still enjoying my art, and have expanded my medium to coloring books and play-doh.  My mom made me this awesome roll-up crayon pouch... one of the many projects that has interfered with her blogging promptly.  Play-doh is strictly a Daddy activity.

Autumn is here, and I made a trip to the farm to pick my pumpkin in preparation for Halloween.  I let Allison come with me, and I picked out a nice lop-sided pumpkin for her too.  (All she wanted to do was eat straw.)  I also took a hayride, did some duck-races, and visited the farm animals.  Of course, I spoke their language to each one of them.  Just call me "Gracie Doolittle."

Halloween costumes and fun with Aunt G & Uncle James coming soon!

The Dinner Show

by Gracie

Eating is normally pretty low on my list of priorities.  I could be playing or dancing or chasing the dogs.  Unless it's a hot dog, a cupcake, a peach, or grapes, I don't really need it.  My parents seem to be growing tired of my stalling techniques at the dinner table, so I had to raise the bar on the cuteness of my dinner show.
Everyone seemed pretty amused by my rendition of "Itsy Bitsy Spider," especially Allison.  Special thanks to Fafa's Mama for introducing me to this lovely tune.

7 months

by Allison

Hello ladies and gentlemen.  I'm now 7 months old and life is good!  I start each morning with some good growls, followed by some happy chirps.  After a few morning hygiene tasks, I enjoy a good breakfast of oatmeal and some kind of fruit.  I love to eat.  Then, an outing or some playtime with my sister, and a nap.  I love to sleep.  Then lunchtime, playtime, and naptime.  Then dinner, bubble bath, playtime, and bedtime.  Those are my days in a nutshell.

As far as eating goes, I like just about everything.  Unlike my sister, I don't mess around at mealtime.  As you can see, I'll go ahead a feed myself while I'm waiting on my parents to try to convince Gracie to eat her meal.  Fruit and rice rusks are great, preferably one in each hand.

Playtime is getting to be more fun.  The best playtimes are with my cool big sister.  I've recently taken a liking to the swings.  My mom won't let me swing as high as Gracie does, but I like to swing a little, and I laugh hysterically at Gracie going so high.  Gracie has also been giving me keyboard lessons, and this is currently my favorite activity.  We also enjoy a good game of peek-a-boo, usually when Gracie is supposed to be eating.
I've become quite good at sitting up by myself, although I occasionally fall over.  I am experimenting with log rolling.  My longest log roll so far is about 15 feet!  I'd like to crawl or walk, but I just haven't figured it out yet.  I'm getting close though.  I'm very talkative.  I sleep pretty well at night.  Sometimes I get a little lonely or want a midnight snack, but I go right back to sleep.  I don't have any teeth yet, but my hair is growing nicely, as well as the rest of me... I've been wearing some size 12-month clothes lately!

That's all for now.  Hopefully my editor/mother will be keeping you more informed of the details of our events and developments.  She's been spending all of her time crocheting silly hats for Gracie and me, instead of keeping up with bloggery!
